Specification
A durable, matt, coated PVC banner with a tough scrim layer for added strength. Designed for 1 to 2 year outdoor use, it has good weather and tear resistance. The coating allows for heavier ink weights and the finer structure is good for closer viewing distances. Note: The media is reverse wound on the core. The smooth side is the printing side.
Compatible with Solvent, Eco-Solvent, Latex and UV Curable inks.

Laminated scrim vinyl and coated scrim vinyl are both commonly used for printed graphics, particularly for banners and outdoor signage. However, they differ in how they are manufactured, their durability, and print quality.
Laminated Scrim Vinyl
- Manufacturing: Made by sandwiching a scrim (woven polyester fabric) between two layers of PVC film that are laminated together.
- Durability: Less durable than coated scrim vinyl because the layers are adhered using glue rather than being directly fused.
- Print Quality: Typically has a smoother surface, which results in better print resolution.
- Flexibility: Less flexible compared to coated scrim vinyl and can be prone to delamination over time.
- Cost: More affordable due to simpler production methods.
- Best Uses: Short- to medium-term applications like indoor or temporary outdoor banners.
Coated Scrim Vinyl
- Manufacturing: The PVC is applied in a liquid form directly onto the scrim fabric and then fused together, creating a single, integrated material.
- Durability: More durable and resistant to tearing, peeling, and harsh weather conditions.
- Print Quality: Can hold ink better, providing more vivid colors and better adhesion.
- Flexibility: More flexible and resistant to cracking when folded or creased.
- Cost: More expensive due to higher-quality materials and manufacturing processes.
- Best Uses: Long-term outdoor applications, high-quality banners, billboards, and signage exposed to tough conditions.
Which One Should You Choose?
If you need a cost-effective option for short-term or indoor use, laminated scrim vinyl is a good choice.
If you need a durable, high-quality option for long-term outdoor applications, coated scrim vinyl is better.
